Internal

Internal Committees are of critical importance to the GSC membership and operations. Internal Committees were established to ensure that certain key issues that affect graduate students are addressed by the administration. See below for a list and description of  these committees. 

 

Internal Committees 

  • Awards:  Oversee the GSC Travel and Book Award Program. Membership on this committee is by application and interview by the Executive Committee and Advisor.

  • Graduate Quality of Life: This group addresses issues concerning the quality of graduate student life inside the academic experience (education, research, financial support, etc.) and outside the academic experience (student health, personal and family welfare, personal budget, child care, etc.).

 

  • Multicultural & Diversity Affairs: This group addresses issues unique to the multicultural and diversity issues and programs at Texas A&M University by working with relevant offices and other interested parties. 

 

  • Legislative: This group addresses legislation that affects graduate students at the local, state, and national levels - especially during years that the Texas legislature is not in session.

 

  • Disciplinary Committee: This group is comprised of 9 volunteer Representatives from the general body to serve as part of a Disciplinary Review Committee if/when necessary. Representatives will be selected following a brief written application and a short interview with the Executive Committee and Advisor. 

 

  • Student Research Week: The mission of Student Research Week is to recognize and celebrate student research at Texas A&M University by providing an opportunity for students to present their research to the students, faculty, staff and administration.

 

  • Marketing & Communications:  Prepare all GSC publications (Nth Degree montly newsletter, Nth Degree Special Editions, New Student Manuals).

 

  • Programming: Coordinate all GSC events including, but not limited to, Grad Camp, Grad School 101, Graduate Student Appreciation Week and Graduate Student Mix and Mingle Socials and Seminars.
